SOG - SEAL XR 12-21-01-57 pocket knife

The SOG SEAL XR 12-21-01-57 is a big and tough pocket knife. The name, of course, comes from the famous fixed SOG SEAL knives, designed for the US Navy Seals. This is the pocket knife version of those fixed blades. Big, strong and impressive. That's the Seal XR. You open it easily one-handed with the flipper or thumb hole. So you can get to work quickly.

As the name suggests, the SEAL XR features the XR-lock. This is a fine locking mechanism that is perfect for both left- and right-handers. A nice thing about the XR mechanism is that the blade comes out of the grip slightly when you pull the lock back. With a slight flick of the wrist, you thus easily swing the blade out of the grip. Besides opening with the thumb hole and the flipper, this is the third opening mechanism according to SOG.

In terms of materials, SOG has thought carefully about how to use this knife. The handle is made of GRN. This is a strong plastic reinforced with glass fibres. The blade is made of high-quality American CPM S35VN steel. This is good rustproof and stays sharp for a long time. The matte black coating prevents reflections, which is nice for the men for whom this knife is designed.
